Horses Cross State Line…Gettin’ Closer!

Last weekend was a BIG (but nerve-wracking) event for us. We moved our five horses to AL (thanks, Scott, for shipping them safely from SC and GA) and now we’re getting ready to move them onto the farm this summer once the pastures and barn are ready. When the equine friends aren’t hanging out at our place, they’re living the good life on a wonderful farm a few miles down the road…with 100+ beautiful country acres, three stream-fed ponds, mountains for gazing and trail riding, and acres and acres of green pastures not to mention the most loving, attentive care from the farm’s owners and trainer, our new friends. These animals are going to live better than we do. Here are a few shots from move-in day:

Bumble-Ardy, Can’t Wait To Meet Ya

If you remember the Feb. 1 post, “Things That Bring Me Joy,” I professed a lifelong passion for the art of Maurice Sendak, whose last surviving mural is currently being restored at The Rosenbach Museum in Philadelphia. Today, HarperCollins announced that Sendak is at work on Bumble-Ardy, the first book the beloved children’s author has written and illustrated in 30 years. And guess what? It’s about a pig. When asked about his party-seeking pig protagonist, Sendak said in today’s WSJ, “He was funny. He was robust. He was sly. He was a sneak. He was all the things I like.”
