  Bangle Art Bracelet

  We simply love these bangles by Lisa Hutson. For each bracelet, the natural blue and rare coral turquoise beads are wire wrapped together, then hooked on a hand-forged gold tone brass band. Once the bangle is finished, it tumbles for 18 hours in a blend of stainless steel shot which hardens it and smooths out any rough edges — a step that sets Lisa’s distinctive jewelry apart. Once they’ve been tumbled, each bracelet is polished by hand for the highest heirloom quality. Lisa creates all of her jewelry from her studio in Nashville, where she’s kept company by her two canine BFFs who often lend an ear to long conversations and serve as final judges when she just can’t decide on a design she’s working on.

Our Farm Fresh fragrance was created by The Rustic House in Chattanooga, Tenn. This women-owned candle company was inspired by a love for simple living and a rustic, yet modern, farmhouse style. Co-founders Emily and Chelsea grew up in Alabama and their childhoods were filled with family reunions around big farmhouse tables, lake days and running wild through the tall grass.

  Each luxury spa candle has a 50-hour burn time, braided cotton wick and was hand poured with love.

When she was a little girl, Lisa was always playing in the dirt…making mud pies and “borrowing” spoons and pans from her mama’s kitchen as she mastered her craft. Now she’s all grown up but still plays in the mud, often leaving a few handprints around her house.   We’re super excited to add this exquisite product to the Mercantile — hand stamped silver flatware by Laura Doe of Doe Imprints. Laura scours antique and flea markets around the country to find vintage, silverplated flatware that she imprints with a variety of whimsical and custom messages. We met Laura at a farmers market last summer and immediately bought up a whole bunch of her pieces to feature in the Mercantile. We raised our kids together and now all our babies have flown the nest, leaving us just a little more time to enjoy doing more of the things we absolutely love to do. And for Carol, a busy healthcare consultant by day, that extra free time means meditative knitting. A lifelong knitter, she makes each baby crown by hand, using only the finest, 100% cotton she can find. Each hat fits a newborn to 3-month-old, and can be passed down for generations. The Cerakko Farm selection includes Sweet Pea Baby, Little Black Sheep and Rabbit Rabbit. Exceptional quality and just so darling, a baby hat by Carol makes a truly wonderful treasured keepsake.   Cook in style in one of these chic aprons. The denim aprons pictured here are made with premium material from Japan’s Kurabo Mill, known for some of the finest denim in the world. They’re server craft quality and come in two styles: Indigo with White Stripes and Restaurant Deco Black-and-White Stripes. The Red Stripes apron, one of our newest additions, is made from Lithuanian Linen in which the red yarn is interwoven with the rustic linen for a country chic look. Easy to clean with deep pockets, Cheryl makes these beautiful gourmet aprons by hand, and adds cotton twill tape and metal grommets to finish. This is the gift for the gourmand in your house!

  Handmade Paper Note Cards

  We worked with artist Joan Robertson to create these sweet handmade paper note cards featuring scenes from daily farm life.

  Joan created four special drawings for our custom note cards – a horse plowing a field, chickens running in the barnyard, big, beautiful sunflowers, and decorative ropes of the heirloom garlic she grows on her farm in Attalla, Alabama. Printed on handmade paper, with matching envelopes fashioned from alfalfa pellet and wheat bran feed bags, these tiny illustrations of country life are for your most special friends!
