Papa

1950’s Flashback: Here’s our “Papa,” Forrest C. Brooks, on his farm in Austell, Ga., with his favorite Palomino. Papa was one of seven boys raised on what is today known as Kolb Farm near Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. In 1964 Kolb was purchased and restored to its 1864 condition by the National Park Service. http://tiny.cc/Ms3MV

Back in Jax for the weekend. You can tell the university is gearing up because we could hear the marching band practicing from our house last night. Plus I’m seeing cute college kids everywhere. And last night we saw thousands of stars. (Just one of the reasons why we like it out here.)

Coming ‘Home’

Got a voicemail from “Mr. Wigley” last night (he cuts the grass at our place), and he ended the message with “I’ll see you folks when you get home this weekend.” And it suddenly hit me…he was talking about our coming “home” to the farm. How sweet!
